In the collection of Rustcabinets, the metal and it's unique surface is what makes the pieces special. The craftsmanship and signature can be found in the metal. The (ordered) glass has no imperfections and makes the design complete.
In the new collection, the glass-project, the metal is 'just the carrier' off the glass, providing a subtle line play and this time the eye get's drawn towards the glass.
2 years of research on how to deform and shape glass in special ovens, what molds to use, which temperatures and so on has led to a first series of cabinets and lamps with a more minimal and subdued approach.
The handcrafted metal molds leave unique marks, lines, textures and imperfections in the glass, making each piece stand out.
The glass-project is an ongoing experiment.
